Nga đă áp đặt các biện pháp trừng phạt cá nhân đối với một danh sách người Mỹ đáng chú ư vào thứ Năm, bao gồm người sáng lập và Giám đốc điều hành tỷ phú của Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, Phó Tổng thống Kamala Harris và một số nhà báo, trong một động thái trả đũa Hoa Kỳ.
Nga đă trừng phạt tổng cộng 29 người Mỹ vào hôm thứ Năm, Bộ Ngoại giao Nga cho biết trong một tuyên bố, cấm các cá nhân đi du lịch đến Nga và đóng băng bất kỳ tài sản nào mà họ có thể nắm giữ ở nước này.
Nhà báo George Stephanopoulos của ABC, Doug Emhoff, giám đốc điều hành của Bank of America và LinkedIn cùng các nhà báo và nhà nghiên cứu về Nga nằm trong số những người bị trừng phạt.
Trước đó, Nga đă trừng phạt Tổng thống Joe Biden, con trai ông Hunter Biden, cựu Ngoại trưởng và ứng cử viên tổng thống của đảng Dân chủ Hillary Clinton cùng một số quan chức Nhà Trắng vào ngày 15/3.
