Tại Hoa Kỳ, lănh đạo hàng đầu của Đảng Cộng ḥa tại Thượng viện hôm thứ Năm kêu gọi các nghị sĩ đồng viện sửa sai vụ luận tội ‘độc hại’ chống lại Tổng thống Donald Trump, đánh đi một tín hiệu mạnh mẽ cho thấy Thượng viện khó có thể truất phế TT Trump.

Lănh tụ khối đa số tại Thượng viện Mitch McConnell tố cáo Hạ viện do phe dân chủ kiểm soát là nghe theo những đam mê nhất thời và chủ nghĩa phe phái khi biểu quyết luận tội Tổng thống Trump hôm thứ Tư về tội lạm dụng quyền lực và cản trở Quốc hội.

Ông Trump, tổng thống thứ ba trong lịch sử Hoa Kỳ bị luận tội, giờ sẽ được xét xử tại Thượng viện vào khoảng đầu tháng 1 2020 về các cáo buộc liên quan đến cố gắng của ông gây áp lực với Ukraine để nước này điều tra ông Joe Biden, một đối thủ chính trị của ông bên Đảng Dân chủ.

Hiện chưa rơ phiên xét xử sẽ như thế nào và khi nào nó sẽ diễn ra. Chủ tịch Hạ viện Nancy Pelosi hôm thứ Năm cho biết bà sẽ không chuyển hồ sơ luận tội lên Thượng viện cho đến khi đạt được đồng thuận tối thiểu với phe Cộng ḥa tại Thượng viện về một số thủ tục, liên quan tới các tài liệu chứng cứ và kêu nhân chứng ra điều trần.

Đảng Cộng ḥa nắm quyền kiểm soát Thượng viện gồm tất cả 100 thành viên. Không có ai trong số các nghị sĩ Đảng Cộng hoà ra dấu hiệu cho thấy họ sẵn sàng truất phế ông Trump.

Bác bỏ phán quyết luận tội của Hạ viện là ‘hồ đồ’, ông McConnell khẳng định rằng theo ông, Thượng viện không nên kết tội ông Trump.

Trước đó, Chủ tịch Thượng viện McConnell tuyên bố rằng ông làm việc song song với Toà Bạch Ốc trong quá tŕnh chuẩn bị cho vụ xét xử, làm dấy lên những lời chỉ trích từ đảng Dân chủ rằng Chủ tịch Thượng viện McConnnell hoàn toàn bỏ qua nghĩa vụ phải xem xét bằng chứng một cách công bằng. Tổng thống Trump thường xuyên gọi điện thoại cho ông McConnell, theo một cựu phụ tá của nghị sĩ này cho biết.

Nói trên đài MSNBC, nhân vật số 2 của đảng Dân chủ tại Hạ viện, Dân biểu Steny Hoyer, nói rằng đảng Dân chủ lo ngại ông McConnell sẽ không tạo điều kiện cho một vụ xét xử đúng nghĩa.

Tổng thống Trump, 73 tuổi, bị buộc tội lạm dụng quyền lực khi ông áp lực Ukraine điều tra về ông Biden, cựu phó tổng thống Mỹ, đồng thời loan truyền giả thuyết đă bị chứng minh là không có cơ sở, rằng chính đảng Dân chủ thông đồng với Ukraine để can thiệp vào cuộc bầu cử Tổng thống Mỹ năm 2016, chứ không phải là Nga.

Đảng Dân chủ tố cáo rằng để tăng sức ép lên Ukraine, ông Trump đă ra lệnh giữ lại, không tháo ngân 391 triệu đô la viện trợ an ninh cho Ukraine trước đó đă được quốc hội thông qua, và ngoài ra, mời Tổng Thống Ukraina Volodymyr Zelenskiy tới Toà Bạch Ốc như một biện pháp khuyến khích để tăng áp lực lên Kiev can thiệp vào cuộc bầu cử Tổng thống Mỹ năm 2020 bằng cách bôi nhọ ông Biden.

Ông Trump c̣n bị cáo buộc cản trở Quốc hội v́ đă chỉ đạo các quan chức và cơ quan hành chính không hợp tác với các cuộc điều tra luận tội.

Vẫn theo Reuters, tương lai chính trị của ông Trump giờ đây nằm trong tay của Chủ tịch Thượng viện McConnell, một người nổi tiếng là một tay thương thuyết khôn khéo và có nhiều thủ đoạn.

Tôi đă lầm "Voted cho DUMP" 2016. Càng ngày thấy him càng lạm quyền, hống hách, chằng cần biết quốc pháp như thế nào, chưa có TT nào nói dối, ném đá giấu tay, kỳ thị da màu như DUMP, th́ nên xuống đi là vừa. Nhưng có những người VIỆT "kêu" chủ các tiệm NAIL th́ ủng hộ DUMP hết ḿnh, ǵ không phải đóng thuế cho thợ nail, giống như thời cựu TT OBAMA, cho nên ích kỷ riêng ḿnh mà cúi đầu theo DUMP, chứ có biết "đéo ǵ" về chính trị chính em đâu, rồi có ngày sẽ sáng mắt nhe các chủ tiệm NAIL của Việt "kêu"! Thằng DUMP là thằng tráo trở lật lộng số 1 trong các TT của Mỹ, những ai là chủ các thương nghiệp, nhất là chủ tiệm NAIL sẽ có 1 ngày DUMP nó chơi cho 1 cú, th́ lúc đó đứng kêu trời trách phận ...... tôi đă lầm theo DUMP nhé.

Coi bộ con đường chông gai của những năm kế tiếp sẽ ở trong toà bạch ốc im lặng hay nằm nhà đợi sở thuế vụ và luật sư của các vụ kiện ?

Như vậy ủng hộ TT thêm 4 năm nửa kể như 4 năm bỏ sông bỏ biển đời tụi ḿnh.
