(CNN) – Tổng thống Donald Trump vào thứ Ba cam kết sẽ bỏ tiền túi ra chi tiêu mọi thứ cần thiết để có thể thắng nhiệm kỳ thứ hai trước bối cảnh gia tăng những nghi vấn về t́nh h́nh tài chánh chiến dịch tranh cử, nhất là vận động đang bước vào giai đoạn nước rút sau Lễ Lao Động.


Có nhiều lư do để hoài nghi về sự khoe khoang đó. Phần lớn chủ yếu bởi v́ Trump từng nói trước đây, và ông không hoàn toàn thực hiện.

Theo New York Times loan tin vào thứ Hai, “mặc dù chiến dịch đă gây quỹ tổng cộng $1,1 tỉ Mỹ kim kể từ đầu năm 2019, và không phải chi dùng vào sơ bộ, nhưng hơn $800 triệu Mỹ kim, hay gần 73%, ngân quỹ của họ đă cạn kiệt.

Ông Trump lên Twitter tranh chấp bản tin trên. “V́ virus Trung Quốc, chiến dịch tranh cử của tôi vốn đă gây quỹ được rất nhiều tiền, bị buộc phải chi tiêu để đối phó với Tin tức Giả loan tin về cách chúng tôi giải quyết virus (Cấm nhập cảnh từ Trung Quốc, …),” ông Trump đăng trên Twitter vào chiều thứ Ba. “Chúng tôi đă, và đang làm tốt công việc, và c̣n dư nhiều tiền, nhiều hơn 2016. Như tôi đă làm trong sơ bộ 2016, nếu cần thêm tiền th́ tôi sẽ bỏ vào!”

Trước khi lên đường đi Florida, ông Trump cũng tuyên bố tương tự trước truyền thông. “Nếu chúng tôi cần thêm tiền th́ cá nhân tôi sẽ bỏ vào như đă làm trong ṿng sơ bộ lần trước,” ông Trump nói. “Trong sơ bộ 2016, tôi bỏ nhiều tiền túi vào. Nếu phải th́ tôi sẽ làm, nhưng tôi không phải v́ chúng tôi có gấp đôi hoặc thậm chí gấp 3 những ǵ cách đây vài năm.”

Đây là tuyên bố cần phải được điều tra thêm.

Không nghi ngờ ǵ, ông Trump đặt sự giàu có và sẵn sàng chi tiền làm trọng tâm chiến dịch tranh cử sơ bộ Cộng ḥa vào năm 2016.

“Bằng cách tự chi tiền túi cho chiến dịch của ḿnh, tôi không bị người đóng góp, lợi ích đặc biệt hay những người vận động hành lang kiểm soát,” Trump đăng trên Facebook vào tháng 9 năm 2015. “Tôi chỉ làm việc cho nhân dân Mỹ!” Trong suốt chiến dịch tranh cử sơ bộ, ông Trump thường xuyên nhấn mạnh, ông ta đóng góp toàn bộ chi phí chiến dịch cần, và điều này giúp ông tự do khỏi “đầm lầy” mà nhiều đối thủ Cộng ḥa đang mắc kẹt.

Điều này không hoàn toàn đúng sự thật v́ ông Trump có tự bỏ tiền túi ra tranh cử, nhưng ông cũng gây quỹ nhiều tiền từ các cá nhân khác.

Theo PolitiFact lưu ư đầu năm 2016: Chiến dịch của ông Trump gây quỹ được $19 triệu vào cuối năm 2015, cá nhân ông Trump đóng góp gần$13 triệu. Hầu hết số c̣n lại từ cá nhân đóng góp. Tháng 5 năm 2016, ông Trump gây quỹ được $48 triệu Mỹ kim, với ¼ số tiền này từ những người đóng góp cá nhân.

Ông Trump tự cho bản thân vay hơn $46 triệu Mỹ kim từ tiền túi trong cuộc chiến sơ bộ dành đề cử Cộng hoà. Dưới áp lực của một số người đóng góp do dự đóng góp nỗ lực tổng tuyển cử của ông Trump do lo ngại ông ta sẽ sử dụng đóng góp của họ để trả cho khoản tiền túi, nên ông trùm bất động sản vào cuối tháng 6 năm 2016 thông báo sẽ bỏ qua những khoản vay cho chiến dịch tranh cử.

Hoá ra không hẳn như vậy! Trump bỏ tiền túi ra tổng cộng $66 triệu Mỹ kim vào năm 2016, điều này có nghĩa chỉ khoản $20 triệu trong ṿng tổng tuyển cử chống lại bà Hillary Clinton. Ông gây quỹ được tổng cộng $339 triệu Mỹ kim ṿng tổng tuyển cử, như vậy số tiền đầu tư riêng chỉ chiếm 6%. Và trong đó, theo New York Times, ông Trump đă chi cho những công ty của ḿnh $12 triệu Mỹ kim, gồm hoàn tiền ăn ở, đi lại, dịch vụ cho ông ta và nhân viên, cũng như văn pḥng trong toà nhà của ông ta trên đại lộ Fifth Avenue tại Manhattan. Việc di chuyển đi lại bằng phi cơ riêng chiếm phần lớn số tiền quay trở lại các công ty của ông ta, $8.7 triệu Mỹ kim.

Không nghi ngờ ǵ Trump tự bỏ tiền túi ra vào năm 2016, nhưng cũng không nghi ngờ ǵ, ông ta đă không hoàn toàn làm như lời khoe khoang, như hoàn toàn tự bỏ tiền ra vận động sơ bộ hay trong chiến dịch tổng tuyển cử; và chi “hơn $100 triệu Mỹ kim trong chiến dịch và tôi chuẩn bị bỏ thêm nhiều hơn nữa” như tuyên bố trên CNN vào tháng 10 năm 2016.

Không nghi ngờ, những ǵ ông Trump tuyên bố ngày hôm nay không khác 2016 là bao.
