Nhà Trắng trao quyền tiếp cận an ninh cho hơn hai chục người có lí lịch đáng ngờ, bao gồm cả con gái của tổng thống Ivanka và con rể Jared Kushner, bởi một người tố cáo tiêu cực trong Nhà Trắng nói rằng chính quyền Trump đă bác bỏ quyết định của các chuyên gia an ninh để trao quyền tiếp cận an ninh cho những người trên.

Hồ sơ xin quyền tiếp cận an ninh của Jared Kushner và Ivanka Trump được nói là có vấn đề, nhưng Nhà Trắng đă bác bỏ lời khuyên của các chuyên gia, theo lời kể của một người tố cáo tiêu cực.

Tricia Newbold, một cố vấn an ninh Nhà Trắng, nói với các nghị sĩ Dân chủ trong Quốc hội rằng 25 quan chức chính quyền ban đầu bị từ chối quyền tiếp cận an ninh v́ những lo ngại về ảnh hưởng của nước ngoài, mâu thuẫn lợi ích, hành xử đáng ngờ hoặc phạm tội, những vấn đề tài chính hoặc việc lạm dụng ma túy.

Bà nói rằng cựu giám đốc an ninh nhân sự Nhà Trắng, Carl Kline, đă đích thân bác bỏ quyết định của các quan chức chuyên nghiệp trong trường hợp của hai quan chức cao cấp.

Các cáo buộc của bà Newbold được tŕnh bày trong một bức thư gửi tới Nhà Trắng vào ngày thứ Hai và được công bố bởi Chủ tịch Ủy ban Giám sát Hạ viện, Elijah Cummings.

Ông Cummings cho biết ông dự định ra trát buộc ông Kline khai chứng và cảnh báo rằng sẽ có thêm những trát buộc khai chứng nếu Nhà Trắng không cung cấp những tài liệu được yêu cầu.

Trong bức thư gửi cho Nhà Trắng, ông Cummings nhắc đến ba “quan chức cao cấp” của Nhà Trắng không được tên. Những người này là những trường hợp nộp đơn xin quyền tiếp cận an ninh được bà Newbold nhắc tới.

Reuters dẫn hai nguồn nắm rơ thông tin mà Ủy ban Giám sát có được cho biết hai trong số ba quan chức cấp cao đó là Ivanka Trump và Jared Kushner, chồng của bà.

Nhà Trắng không hồi đáp ngay lập tức yêu cầu b́nh luận, Reuters nói. Abbe Lowell, một luật sư đại diện cho ông Kushner và bà Ivanka Trump, không đưa ra b́nh luận.

Jim Jordan, nghị sĩ Cộng ḥa hàng đầu trong ủy ban này của Hạ viện, ra một thông cáo gọi bức thư này là một “đ̣n tấn công mang tính đảng phái” mà thực chất là “một cái cớ để moi móc hồ sơ cá nhân của các công chức tận tâm.”

Ông Cummings cho biết bà Newbold, một người quản lư trong văn pḥng an ninh nhân sự của Nhà Trắng, nói bà bị nhắm mục tiêu trả đũa sau khi từ chối chấp thuận các hồ sơ này dựa trên các thủ tục an ninh quốc gia.

Trong một diễn biến riêng rẽ, Ủy ban Tư pháp Hạ viện ngày thứ Hai nói họ sẽ ra trát để có được bản báo cáo đầy đủ của Công tố viên Đặc biệt Robert Muller về sự can thiệp của Nga trong cuộc bầu cử tổng thống năm 2016.

Bộ trưởng Tư pháp William Bar đă cung cấp một bản tóm tắt những kết luận của ông Mueller cho Quốc hội vào ngày 24 tháng 3, nói rằng công tố viên đặc biệt không xác định các thành viên trong ban vận động Trump thông đồng với Nga.
